We’re so excited to bring you this fun Kindle Fire Giveaway! We’re also excited about the Build Your Bundle homeschool sale this week. Some of our favorite companies are involved and we have had to opportunity to join in about three of the bundles ourselves!

Books on the Go

Homeschooling on the go is one of our favorite things. We enjoy hands on learning with wonderful field trips as well as getting outside for nature walks and all manner of everyday exploring.

The ability to take books on the go 4 homeschool can really make a difference in the educational value of our travels and field trip adventures.

national memorial

Sitting in the park at the Vicksburg Military Memorial – for instance, is a perfect time to pull out the Kindle and read together about the sacrifices made there or other Civil War details. Picture us, after touring the USS Alabama at the Military Memorial in Mobile – sitting at the picnic tables outside and reading our homeschool lesson about World War II! It can be a powerful tool and an extreme advantage for hands on learning in your family homeschool.

Combining our studies with real life adventures is the best way I know to give my boys a memorable and valuable education. Read about how travel and field trips have greatly enhanced our homeschool here.

Kindle Fire Tips for PDF

Books on the GO for homeschooling on the go – just in time for the build your bundle sale! We LOVE Kindle Fire! I share loads of Free Kindle books (see our selection of FREE Classic Tales of Adventure here)

You can use it to read not only eBooks but also pdf’s without having to install any software. Your Kindle (or Kindle app) has its own email address, meaning you can send any PDF straight to your device just by attaching it to an email. (You can find this address in the Kindle’s Settings area.) That will give you basically a photo of the doc and then you have to zoom in & out to see what you need to see – BUT if you put the word “convert” in the subject line of your email – Amazon will do the converting for you!

If there are any problems with the formatting – you can try k2pdfopt.  Also, ZDnet has some pretty good instructions for using Kindle Apps with pdf docs here.

Affordable & Frugal Curriculum

Digital curriculum can be an extremely affordable option and gives you access to the best education available at prices you can afford. These files can be stored in a free Dropbox account, moved to a Kindle or printed out as needed.

Currently – we are participating in the Build Your Bundle Homeschool Curriculum Sale. I have a lot of customers & readers who are new to homeschooling & this is the perfect way for you to explore an awesome array of options for your family – without breaking the bank.
